Of
course we had a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend! We feasted
and feasted and enjoyed each other. Then Rockslide played Meehan's
on Friday and that was a party. Then we saw my buddy Lloyd Lindberg
make is debut on the big stage at IMAC, warming up for the stilll-amazing
Phobe Snow. Sunday? Football baby! Jets and Giants baby! Subway
Super Bowl baby!
We just booked a December 16
date for The
John Sullivan Brigade at the Munchaba
Lounge ; always a friendly
venue for us. It's a nice early show and we're playing two sets
so come on down! We'll be previewing some new music from the upcoming
CD, so if you're a fan of the band that's something you won't
want to miss! I mean really, where do you get more "bang"
for your entertainment dollar than with live local music?
Rockslide
had a lot of fun playing a packed Meehan's of Huntington last
weekend and we always love playing there; seeing friends old and
new. We're looking forward to closing out the year on the 28th
and then Rockslide goes on hiatus (for live gigs, anyway) until
January.
Wow, I've had some really special musical
experiences this year and recently had another. Rockslide
got to take over my Mom's garage to do our first serious recording
session.
Back when I was 13, 14 years old sitting
in the garage with my little amp, I'd dream of the day when I
could make a real record with a real band in that garage. Well,
it only took nearly 40 years but I finally got to do it, and it
was beyond special. Thanks guys, it really meant a lot!
Rock on! GG
