A REAL Man of the People!

BERNIE SANDERS! Many villains have emerged in the Health Care Reform debate - Big Business, Big Pharma, Republicans, "Traitor Joe" Lieberman; even sell-outs in the Democratic Party. But there have been a few people who have been real heroes, too. Sen. Bernie Saunders (I-VT) has been a tireless advocate of the Public Option. So many politicians want to straddle the fence and not take a side. Bernie is a man who took a stand when it counted. Thanks, Bernie!

Having a great family is the biggest blessing!

FAMILY: It's great to have such a wonderful family with brothers I know will always have my back. We had another great year together and I hope we will for many to come. Love you guys!

RACHEL MADDOW: After a year on MSNBC Rachel is still one of the hardest-hitting interviewers and smartest pundits on TV. She rocks!

Rockslide: A year of musical growth!

ROCKSLIDE: Overall it was a tough year for the band, booking about half the gigs we did last year. But we challenged ourselves to "up our game" as musicians and I think we accomplished just that. We are a whole lot better as an ensemble than we were at this time last year. I'm looking forward to good things for the band in 2010.

At least the Giants are giving us something to cheer about.

GIANTS! It's been great to watch a championship-caliber team play week in and week out. Which is more than we've been getting from the Mets or the Knicks the past couple of years.

Facebook has brought me a lot of good things this year.

FACEBOOK: Wow, people from high school, college, old friends I haven't seen in years; even somebody who was my next-door neighbor in my old childhood neighborhood. I have re-connected with a lot of wonderful people because of Facebook this year, so thanks!

W: No, I'm not kidding. Unlike Dick "Evil Incarnate" Cheney, at least George W. Bush has had the good grace to go home to Texas and stay the hell out of the way, which I appreciate. You've done enough damage already. Now go away, and stay there!

CHENEY! I knew he was a POS his whole time in office but for him to stand on the sidelines now and accuse President Obama of, "Giving Aid and Comfort to the Enemy" (the exact phrase used in the Constitution to define Treason) is just unconscionable. ...And stop sending your daughter to do your dirty work because no one else will back you up!

REPUBLICANS! Is it my imagination or are they getting more stupid, more shrill and farther to the Right than they've ever been? They have no real leadership unless you think GOP Chair Michael Steele is it, and good luck with that! They have no new ideas, they just want to say "NO!" to everything. These are not my Father's Republicans - Dad was a moderate who advocated Fiscal Responsibility and above all Ethical Government! These Republicans stand for neither. The Right used to field intellectual heavyweights like William F. Buckley, now they have psycho babblers like Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck. Pretty sad.

Senator, you were bought and paid-for!

NO HEALTH CARE REFORM! Health Care has been stonewalled by the Republicans and Big Business interests. Anybody who's been paying the least bit of attention has seen that numerous lawmakers on both sides of the asile have been bought and paid for. America wants this, the House passed it, yet a "majority" of four very powerful, corporate-owned people aren't going to allow the change to happen! I hope Max Baucus, Joe Lieberman, Blanche Lincoln and Olympia Snowe sleep real well at night! The pitiful way the Democratic leadership dropped the ball on this issue makes me wonder how serious they really were.

TEABAGGERS!!! They're living proof of H.L. Mencken's famous quote that "No one ever went broke underestimating the intelligence of the American People," because those are some DUMBASSES right there! This Summer they were out in force, clamoring against Health Care Reform when doing so clearly flies in the face of their own self-interest. "SOCIALISM!" they screamed. They all had this "Angry Bubba" look about them. It was as if all the Angry White Guys on Long Island turned out at once to protest. Some people say "Hired Goons." I say, "Unholy Alliance of Right-Wing Fringe Groups" and maybe - be honest now - a little racism thrown in to boot? Maybe? A little?

TREASONOUS CORPORATIONS! I can't believe the ARROGANCE of these executives who feel that they can make their corporations more profitable by outsourcing and offshoring all the work that needs to be done. These Executirve Geniuses, in their infinite wisdom, send American jobs overseas to pay workers there a fraction of what they get here with the idea that somehow this is going to give them more control! Then they wonder why the work is done "on the cheap" instead of "done right!" These people don't care about their companies, their communities, their country or the Greater Good - all they care about is their fat fucking Management bonuses. If that's not treason, I don't know what is!

OBAMA ADMINSTRATION: Uh, hello? Mr. President? (tap tap) Is anybody there? Hopefully somebody at the White House got the memo that America voted for CHANGE in 2008, because what we've seen so far is a re-run of "More of the Same!" You were supposed to end the war and bring the troops home. FAIL! You were supposed to pass Health Care Reform. FAIL! You were supposed to drive the moneychangers from the temple... er, end "Pay for Play" in Washington. DOUBLE FAIL!!! I still believe but what a disappointment you've been so far.

SARAH PALIN! For the life of me, I don't know why anybody takes this woman the least bit seriously. She gets by on her looks and her little catch phrases that throw raw meat to her far-Right base. She is as phony, intellectually lazy and self-serving as any politician out there today. She is all about her self-aggrandizment and doesn't have much interest in actually governing. That's why she bailed on Alaska. Any constituancy dumb enough to elect this woman again deserves what they get!

THE METS! Another heartbreaking season of futility. That's three in a row. I would have fired Jerry Manuel and Omar Minaya by now but they get ONE MORE CHANCE not to screw it up! Oh well, it could be worse - I could be a CUBS fan!
